The Study On The Development Model Of Ecological Farm In Yiyang City, Hunan Province

Ecological farm, as the development of ecological agriculture, is the product of thecombination of ecological agriculture and ecological tourism. It plays a crucial role inpromoting the urban-rural integration, the rural economic system reform, along with the changefrom the traditional agriculture to intensive and large-scale modern agriculture. This thesisisdesigned to explore the development and operating model of ecological farm in Yiyang byadopting economics and ecology theories. Field research, literature reference, together withcomparative and SWOT analysis are also applied for the study.Yiyang, within the area of "3+5" city clusters, locates at the hinterland of the Pearl Riverdelta. With good geographical location, it is rich in ecological resources and has a vast marketwith abundant customers. Moreover, the city has a clear target on its future development. Sincethe end of the20th century, the new countryside construction has become high priorities inChina, and the new countryside construction of Yiyang has also boomed. Its superiorecological conditions provide great opportunities for developing ecological tourism. With thedevelopment of agricultural science and technology, the construction of ecological farm hasgained a solid foundation. However, with regard to ecological farm in Yiyang, the problem ofpoor infrastructure is still obvious nowadays. Moreover, the investment period is long, the sizeis small, and the products provided are single. Lack of cultural connotation, and brandconsciousness, the management of ecological farm is also poor.Supported by national policy, many cities take tourism as an important way fordevelopment. And Yiyang faces fierce competition within the same industry from other cities.Meanwhile, ecological farm has seasonality effect and the diversified demand of tourists ishard to satisfy. In order to foster the development of ecological agriculture and protect theenvironment through ecological farm, finding ways to reduce damage to the local environment during development and balance the ecological benefits and economic benefits, will be themajor challenges we face.According to its ecological resources conditions and current situation,SWOT analysis also employed, this paper presents a hybrid ecological development mode,with resources layout, ecological food and specialty development, brand marketing as maincontents, and makes policy suggestions at last.
