Research On The Choice Of Industrial Leading Industry In Hengshui City

Leading industry is the key industry in different stages of developmentfor a country or a region, which leading and sustaining other industries’development, and is the driving power of regional economic growth. Thedevelopment of dominant industry is one of the important content of theregional economic development. Choosing the industrial leading industryscientifically and rationally has great significance to the development of thewhole regional economy.Hengshui city is located in the southeast of Hebei Province, whichbelongs to Jizhong plain. It is a poor area in the history, and its economicfoundation is also weak. After the reform and opening up, the regionalcharacteristic industry dominated by the processing type in Hengshui has astrong development momentum relying on the active private economy. Withthe acceleration of the rising of Bohai Economic Rim, Beijing, Tianjin andHebei Economic Rim and middle south in Hebei Economic Zone, Hengshuifaced with good opportunities for development. Therefore, the governmentshould choose the industrial leading industry which is suitable to theeconomic development in Hengshui correctly in the next period of time andplay a leading role in the proliferation of industry driving the rapiddevelopment of the regional economy. That’s the top priority. This thesisaims at the application of the leading industry choice theory, combines withthe actual situation of Hengshui City to explore the selection of leadingindustry and to put forward the related proposal about the development ofthe leading industry.This thesis first reviews the relevant literature at home and abroadabout the leading industry selection, and introduces relevant concept andtheory of leading industries. Meanwhile, complete the index system of leading industry. Then, this thesis has a deep analysis on the economicdevelopment status of Hengshui City, makes sure that it is the critical periodof transition from the early industrialization to the middle industrialization.The special industries are developing rapidly, the leading industries arebegining to take shape, and the effect of the industrial economy to supporthas been gradually growing. Next, the thesis uses the principal componentanalysis method to choose the leading industries of Hengshui, and analyseskinds of selective industry. Eventually ensures that black metal smelting androlling processing industry, Chemical materials and chemical productsmanufacturing, Rubber and plastic products industry, metal productsindustry as the leading industries of Hengshui in the next period. Finally,with combining with practical situation of Hengshui’s industrialdevelopment, this paper puts forward policies to the development of theindustrial leading industry from optimizing the industrial developmentenvironment, promoting industrial agglomeration and strengtheningenterprise technology innovation and environmental protection.
