On Ethics And Responsibility Of Enterprises

The ethics and responsibility problems of Chinese enterprises have made people feel very disturbing. Determining the ethics and responsibility of the enterprises and whether the enterprises not only pursue profit but also perform the social ethics and responsibility are the problems to be urgently solved. This paper defines the concept of ethics and responsibility of the enterprises, analyzes the main performances and reasons of lacking ethics and responsibility of the enterprises and show the author’s understanding and awareness on how to establish ethics and responsibility of Chinese enterprises.First, ethics and responsibility of enterprises are defined, which refers to the responsibilities and duties for the enterprises as the main social body to undertake and consequences when violating social ethics and regulations. The relationship between enterprise ethics and responsibility is mutually inclusive and dialectically unified.Second, the lack of ethics and responsibility of Chinese enterprises and the reasons are analyzed. Under the condition of contemporary Chinese market without standardization, the lack of ethics and responsibility of enterprises has become a catastrophic problem for the society. The problems mainly include:counterfeit and shoddy products, the safety of the products, malignant price competition, bribery in public power, social credit and ethical landslide, loss of opportunity for emerging enterprises to establish good credit, improper competitive means between enterprises, business operators and owners deceiving each other, less humanistic care for the employees from the enterprise, plundering and damage to the natural environment from the enterprises and enterprise escaping to undertake social responsibilities, etc.The main causes for these problems include:from the perspective of business operators, the enterprise’s view of profit and responsibility in guiding ideology is disordered, the operators and employees’ consciousness of ethics and responsibility is weak and enterprise culture construction lags behind; from the perspective of social environment, there is no social system related to ethics and responsibility to restrain the enterprises, the social encouragement and punishment on social ethics and responsibility is not sound, the impact of consumers on the enterprises is not enough and there is no praise and spurn on the ethics and responsibility of enterprise in social ethical and cultural environment, and governmental regulation behavior has not been so effective.Third, how to establish ethics and responsibility system of Chinese enterprises is analyzed. To optimize the construction of ethics and responsibility system of Chinese enterprises, the first is to give full play to the leading role of the advanced socialist culture and guide the enterprise ethics responsibility system with socialist core values and enterprise ethics responsibility construction with collectivism principle to achieve the dialectical unification of social overall interests and interests of individual firm. The second is to establish and improve the laws and institutions system and promote the legalization and institutionalization of enterprise ethics and responsibility. In construction of law, it should put special emphasis on the implementation and in the aspect of system construction, good faith system construction of the enterprises should be considered as the breakthrough point. The third is that the government must play a leading role. The government should monitor and enforce the law system, use policy instruments and public opinion tool to stimulate enterprises to conscientiously fulfill the ethics and responsibility and promote the regulation of ethics and responsibility. The fourth is to carry forward the thoughts such as unification of profit and responsibility, honest and trustworthy business, and reasonably absorb traditional "humanity" and "focus on both righteousness and gain", fully affirm the enterprise to pursue legitimate interests and establish enterprise management thought and new behavior pattern of attention to credit, righteousness and gain.
