In the1970s, since the American scholar Greenleaf proposed the concept ofservant leadership, foreign scholars began to focus on the definition, connotation,dimension of servant leadership, and develop the public servant leadership scale forpractical use, from theory research to extend to the empirical research, they providesthe theory support for the application of servant leadership in the organization.Comparing with foreign study, the study on servant leadership starts late in ourcountry, it is only10years from the beginning until now on, and these studies mainlyfocus on the study of theoretical. And on the empirical research, domestic scholars aremostly confined to research the impact of servant leadership on employee attitude andbehavior, but the researches on the mechanism that how the servant leadership affectemployee performance are relatively scarce, which are given priority to researchdirectly influence, and never discussed the impact of servant leadership on employeeperformance from the perspective of employee psychological feelings. In this study,according the impact of servant leadership on employee psychological feelings, theauthor explores the mechanism of servant leadership which affects employeeperformance.The study uses the measurement methods such as correlation analysis, regressionanalysis to make data analysis on all kinds of enterprises and institutions of the255pairs of managers, employees’ matching samples from Nanchang, Hangzhou, Ningbo,Huzhou and Wenzhou, Ganzhou, etc. Through the analysis of the data, we get thefollowing results: First, servant leadership has a significant effect on employee taskperformance; Second, servant leadership has a significant effect on organizationalcitizenship behavior; Third, servant leadership has a significant effect onorganizational based self-esteem, Fourth, when organization based self-esteem plays arole in it, servant leadership would have no significant effect on employee taskperformance, it means that organizational based self-esteem works as a intermediaryrole between servant leadership and employee performance completely; Fifth, whenorganization based self-esteem plays a role in it, the influence on organizationalcitizenship behavior from servant leadership becomes weaker, it means thatorganizational based self-esteem works as a intermediary role between servantleadership and organizational citizenship behavior.In this paper, by introducing the intermediary organization based self-esteemdiscussing the impact of servant leadership on employees’ job performance, helpimprove the domestic servant leadership theory framework and system. At the sametime the servant leadership in the empirical research of domestic enterprises results inempirical research.
