Si’nce reform and opening up, Chinas foreign trade has developed rapidly. TheDependcncc on Foreign Trade is rising up signiifcantly, from the level of9.74%in1978, to66.27%in2007, which is much higher than the world’s average level.Although down slightly, the Dependence on Foreign Trade in2012,still up to47.00%.The increase of the Dependence on Foreign Trade shows that the extent of our countryto participate in the improvement of the international division of labor. However highdegree of the Dependence on Foreign Trade will increase the difficulty of Chi’nasmacroeconomic control, and influence China’s economic security and thedevelopment of domestic industries. Besides, according to this higher ratio, the risksof China’s foreign trade structuer are reflected. Through the deepening and the spreadof international ifnancial crisis, we realize the necessity and urgency of the structuralreform of foreign trade.Based on our count’rys basic national conditions, foreign trade theories as well asbig amounts of data, the paper takes China’s Commodity Composition of ForeignTrade, Mode Structure of Foreign Trade, and Region Structure of Foreign Trade astools to analyze the Dependence on Foreign Trade. We can draw the followingconclusions: the Dependcncc on Export Trade is positive correlation to the export ofprimary products, but negative correlation to the export of manufactured goods; theDependence on Import Trade is negative correlation to the import of primary products,but positive correlation to the import of manufactured goods; The export ofprocessing trade is almost similar to the export of general trade in the influence of theDependence on Export Trade. The import of processing trade is large impact on theDependence on Import Trade than the general trade imports; The primary industry islarge impact on the eastern region than the ccntral and western regions;TheDependence on Trade of all regions is positive correlation to the secondary industry;The Dependence on Trade of the eastern region is negative correlation to the tertiaryindustry, but positive correlation to the western region.
