Transportation condition which is a basis for integrated development of urban and ruralareas played an important role on sharing resources, the circulation of elements and solving thedaily travel of people. The integrated urban-rural public transportation plays an important roleon accelerating the development of rural transport, the promotion of farmers’ income and ruraleconomic development. In this paper, based on Regional Economics and the IntegratedUrban-Rural Theory, under the integrated urban-rural public transportation promoted by JimeiDistrict government, the integrated urban-rural public transportation and rural economicdevelopemnt in Jimei Disctrict was studied to explore the impact of the integrated urban-ruralpublic transportation on the rural economic development. The regression method of theeconometrical method was used to study their quantitative relationship, and put forwardfeasible proposals suggestions so that the urban-rural public transportation could service betterfor the rural economic development and promote rural economic development in Jimei.By studying the rearch progress and analyzing the impact of the integrated urban-ruralpublic transportation on the rural economic development, assuming that the number of runninglines, the average number of operational vehicles, the average cycling day trip, vehicle costs,and income were taken as the independent variables for the integrated urban-rural publictransportation, and the total first industrial production value was taken as the dependentvaluable. The questionnaire survey was based on these variables, analized by descriptivestatistical method. The result showed that the significant variables affecting on the ruraleconomic development were the vehicle costs and transportation incomes. According to thesignificant variables, the methods of reducing vehicle costs and increasing transportationincome and the subsidies from government were suggested in this paper.
