With the rapid development of our economy, and the mode of modern enterprise has been pursued, employee engagement has attracted more and more attention. The relevant research data also shows that, employee engagement and performance are closely related. But the reality is, in China, employee engagement is maintained at a low level. How to improve employee engagement, with the help of efficient management, and then improve the performance, is a subject, which every entrepreneur must pay attention to.HR Bank is a regional commercial bank, established through restructuring at three years ago. In the past three years, benefiting from the dividends of restructuring, its asset size and the number of employees have both increased greatly. Among them, the new employees were from38other banks, with different background of occupation. In this case, to measure and examine the employee engagement, has become an important means to find the problems, to find the rules, to improve the level of employee engagement, and to improve performance.In domestic and abroad, scholars have done a lot of research on employee engagement and performance. On this basis, this paper focus on HR Bank’s employee engagement, performance, and the relationship between the two. This paper also shows some worthwhile methods to help to improve the level of employee engagement and performance of HR Bank.The study of this paper is divided into the following four parts:the first part is the analysis and review of related literature, which is about employee engagement, performance, and the relationship between the two; the second part is to give the research design and assumptions of this paper basing on the relevant literatures review; the third part is to measure and analysis the level of employee engagement and performance of HR Bank including the difference of demographic variables and the relationship between employee engagement and performance of HR Bank; the fourth part is to give the methods to help to improve the level of employee engagement and performance of HR Bank.The main conclusions of this paper:firstly, the level of employee engagement of HR Bank is in high performance/best employer zone, and higher than the financial industry’s average level, but below than the level of the best employers; secondly, different demographic variables (age, education, tenure) have significant effect on HR bank employee engagement; thirdly, employee engagement and performance of HR Bank has notable positive correlation.The main innovation points of this paper:the first is on the basis of the research on employee engagement, performance and the relationship of them, to focus on the staff of HR Bank, to carry on the empirical analysis, and to provide valuable reference for the practice and academic research in these fields; the second is more closer to the real situation through the Balanced Scorecard than through the questionnaire method to measure the level of performance of HR Bank; the third is to make the correlation analysis and regression analysis of employee engagement and performance, and obtain the research results of hypothesis; the forth is make the genetic analysis to the employee engagement of HR Bank according to the results of empirical analysis, and to give suggestions to improve the level of the employee engagement and performance of HR Bank.
