Research On The Impact Of The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) On Wind Power Industry Of China

With the increasingly serious global energy crisis and environmental problems, countries around the world are carrying on the energy strategic adjustment. As a clean and high-efficiency renewable energy, wind power has becoming the backbone energy for the implementation of Chinese renewable energy strategy, and has wide development space and market prospect. Accompanied by the fast development of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) in China, China’s wind power industry is being linked with the more and more closely.Based on the character of CERs income and prediction of wind power electricity production, the paper calculated the cost price of wind power. According to the conventional thermal power process, this paper also predicts the future cost of thermal power combined with the development trend of coal prices. And the results are corrected with the current coal prices. The sensitivity analysis method is used to analyze the wind power cost price and thermal cost price to find out the most sensitive factors, during which, the CERs income is being considered. After that, this research gets the further coal prices and the price trends with the coal price forecasting model, which provides a comparison for the competitiveness of wind power with thermal power.This article begins to analyze the wind power and thermal power cost price with the relevant codes and principles. It also forecasts the wind power cost trends and the effects of the relevant principles. This passage calculates the thermal power costs to combine with the coal price trends. The results analyze the area of rich wind recourses but of high coal prices. At last, It is concluded that CDM, along with static investment and annual wind electricity production, is one of the most significant factors in promoting the development of wind power in China. Additionally, it is envisaged as a practical proposition for wind power to compete with thermal power if the appropriate actions identified in the paper can take place, which provide a reference basis for wind power development.
