Along with the economic and social development in recent years, the income ofthe residents of Aksu Prefecture has been significantly increased. However, meanwhile the rapid economic development, the fast growing income gaps betweenurban and rural areas and different industries have become a social concern and thebiggest obstacle on building a harmonious society. Based on the investigation ofbasic information table of2007~2012’s urban household survey and theInvestigation table of691prefecture-wide households, by using the empiricalanalysis of statistical analysis theory, the economic income and its distribution in theregion has been analyzed. The carefully calculated Engel coefficient, the Poverty rate, and the Gene coefficient have revealed the fact of the severe income gap betweenrural and urban areas in the region of Aksu. And also based on the statistic data in2006–2012, the study revealed thesignificant relationship between economic activity and the income gap. During theprocess the quantitative analysis methods has been used with the aid of computeranalysis softwares such as Excel, SPSS, etc. to calculate the probability andsignificance. The main reason of the income gap in the region has been found. InAksu Prefecture, the urban and rural residents’ income increased year by year, but thegrowth rate of disposable income is much greater than the gross income of the ruralresidents. The income gap between different industries also have gradually increased.Relative analysis methods applied to study the effects of several factors includingthe rate of urbanization, industrialization level, and the level of total investment infixed assets influencing on the increasing gap. Conclusions are as follows:(A) The rate of urbanization and the industrialization level are inverse with theincome gap. The lower the rate of urbanization and industrialization level, the broaderthe gap. Similarly, the government’s policy of standardizing-in-average showedpositive effects on narrowing the income gap between urban and rural areas. (B) The level of economic development, scale of total investment on fixedassets are proportional to the income gap. The unreasonable structure of loaning andinvestment activities are increasing the income gap between different industries. Moreover, the rate of urbanization and industrialization levels played active role ondecreasing the income gap between industries.
