Research On U.S. Poverty Line And The Anti-poverty Policy From 1959 To 2010

The article studies the changes in poverty and anti-poverty policies of the United States since 1959, the first part of the article is to understand the academic study of poverty of the United States. In order to understand the poverty situation in the United States, so the second part of the arrangements began to research income structure of the United States, income structure data which main selection of three years'data, the income of U.S. residents of present condition, and three years of data according to income level for each $2,500 of a total of 41 division, the level of income and the proportion of people in the Cartesian coordinate axes which was designed to draw the United States income structure Shape. The shapes of the three years are not our traditional understanding of the more equitable "olive" shape structure. But more like a "Christmas tree" shape, which indicating that the U.S. income distribution gap is still grim.In the third part, most of work is research the poverty line of U.S., including on the changes in U.S. poverty line, the development factor also to be considered the poverty line, poverty line issued by the authority and the use of the poverty line. The paper is also reaching the chinages of the U.S. family's poverty line in using trend analysis way from 1959.The fourth part of this paper is to study the composition of the U.S. poverty population, which main analysis of racial differences in poverty rates and age factors on the impact of poverty, family factors impact on the poverty rate and the U.S. poor people distribution in every state.Part V of this paper is to study government's anti-poverty policies during the past 50 year's. Mainly began from President Truman's anti-poverty policy to Obama administration's anti-poverty policy.The last part is based on U.S. poverty, the poverty line and the implementation of anti-poverty policies, which can give China some inspiration.
