In the era of knowledge economy, knowledge-intensive service companies permeate all areas of society and economy, and it has become the main driving force of economic development. The innovative capability of knowledge-intensive service are becoming the focus of academic research. As R&D team is the main subject of knowledge-intensive service companies in developing innovative services. Enhancing R&D team innovative capability is the key to enhance the capability of knowledge-intensive service enterprises.Enhancing the R&D capability depends not only on the level of members’ability, but also need to focus on team-level cognitive mechanisms and the interaction in the team process.Shared mental model is implicit coordination mechanisms in a team, so we regard shared mental model as a starting point in this research. This article summarizes the relevant theory.Based on the existing theory,we decompose team shared mental models, team process, knowledge sharing into many dimensions. Based on theoretical analysis,we build a conceptual about shared mental model affecting team innovative performance, and put forward the corresponding assumptions.Based on previous studies,we construct measurement scale, and develop the questionnaire, we collect806valid questionaires from69knowledge-intensive service enterprises,including150R&D teams. Combined with empirical research data, this paper use exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis verifying the validity of variables, Structural equation modeling is used to verify the mechanism of shared mental models, team process, knowledge sharing’affecting on team innovative performance. Empirical Analysis verify the impact that shared mental models on team innovation performance,as same as shows the relationship between shared mental models on team innovation performance. More importantly,we find that team process and knowledge sharing play a intermediary role in shared mental models’affecting the performance of team innovation. All of them provides practical guidance for knowledge-intensive service enterprises to enhance their innovative performance.
