Study On Export Market Structure Of Wood-based Panel Of China

With the economic development in China, Chinese wood-based panel industry develops with the rapid growth. Export trade is constantly growing so that China has become the biggest country of wood-based panel production and consumption as well as import and export trade. In recent years, the export market of wood-based panel industry of China is highly concentrated in a few countries, which is vulnerable suffered with dumping profit margin and anti subsidy of the traditional trade barriers as well as green trade barriers. Once there come with changes in these markets, Chinese wood-based panel export will be severe damaged and the sustainable development of wood-based panel industry will be prevented. Therefore, based on analyzing the export market of wood-based panel of China, this paper is aimed at exploring the bigger potential export target market, optimizing the structure of export markets and improving the export capacity of wood-based panels.On the premise of reading lots of literature and collecting related statistics data, using Herfindahl-Hirschman Index、Diversity Index and Equality Index analysis the current situation of export market of wood-based panel industry of China based on comparative advantage theory、factor endowment theory、economies of scale theory and national competitive advantage theory from export aspect. From import aspect, using Spearman analysis matching degree of Chinese export market of wood-based panel and world import market of wood-based panel, using Lawrence Index analysis stability of Chinese export market of wood-based panel, compared with Germany which is the principal world wood-based panel country. Study shows that the export market of wood-based panel of China is highly concentrated, market distribution is uneven, market structure is unstable and matching degree of wood-based panel export market between Chinese and world import market is poor. In order to find out degree of affect factors affecting Chinese export market of wood-based panel, gravity model is constructed. Turn out that main factors are GDP of import countries、the number of population、distance between import countries and China and if import countries and China are simultaneously the members of some international economic organizations. By regression equation of gravity model, this paper predicts the export potential of fifty main export market of Chinese wood-panel to find out potential target market. From aspect of government、enterprise and industry association, optimization proposals of Chinese wood-panel are proposed.The study of this paper provides theoretical basis for optimization of Chinese wood-panel export market, determines the export target market of Chinese wood-panel, which are hoping to make contribution to achieve sustainable and stable development of wood-based panel industry.
