This research aims to conduct an in-depth investigation into theinternational image of Nanning city amongst ASEAN students, byadopting quantitative analysis. Specifically, this research explores thecurrent image of Nanning city amid the target group and key factorsinfluencing their opinions, with a view to provide references for futuredecision-making of local government. This research started withengaging in considerable literature review, and then delivered interviewswith professionals specialized in related field. Based on outcomes of thisstage, this research proposed key elements affecting opinions of ASEANstudents on Nanning city, and defined workable research model andhypotheses. Afterwards, this research conducted a survey in questionnaireand questionnaires scoring on a Likert5scale were delivered andmodified according to the results of interviews with professionals orASEAN students and reliability analysis. Those questionnaires weredistributed through three channels, like electronic distribution channel.Later, SPSS was used to perform descriptive, regression and ANOVAanalyses of results gather from this survey, so as to verify thepre-determined hypotheses and produce final conclusions. Finally, thisresearch concluded that Nanning city currently enjoyed a good imageamong ASEAN students. Respondents tended to highly appreciate the city view, but discredited the economic development of Nanning city.Moreover, key elements affecting respondents’ opinions on Nanning cityinclude city view, economic advancement, development of media andcommunity factors. Essentially, those factors influence respondents’opinions at varied levels.
