In the knowledge economy, the nature of competition between enterprises on theperformance of high-quality talent competition, it is become a problem that themanagers thought how to attract, retain and motivate employees to maximize theenthusiasm in the fierce market competition. The middle managers often refers to thecorporate headquarters of the department or person responsible for the business units inthe enterprise, in the company, the middle managers play a link between the layers andoperational decision-making, corporate strategy and tactical execution of thosedecisions-makers, and also the integration of human resources by enterprises, thisgroup level and stable full potential will directly affect the degree of stability ofenterprises operation and sustainable development, so it has important theoretical andpractical significance that sthdy how to motivate this group.The paper took GSD company as the research object, on the basis of analyzingresults of theoretical studies, cleared the definition and characteristics of the middlemanagers, analyzed the role and demand characteristics of the middle managers;introduced the basic situation of middle managers in GSD company, analyzedincentives of middle management from employee benefits, work experience and jobperformance, indicated the problems in the company’s middle managers motivatingthrough satisfaction questionnaires; on this basis,then presented to optimize the existing incentive programs by Hierarchy of Needs.Specifically included building a competitive salary system, improving the welfaresystem, developing the middle managers holding middle managers plan to meet thephysiological and safety needs of the middle managers, through emotional motivation,honor, and cultural incentives to meet the emotional and belonging needs of the middlemanagers, through participation incentives, incentives and signed authorization withouta fixed term contract to meet the desire of middle managers, through targeted training,promotion channels, and building middle managers to carry out career planning tomeet the self-actualization of the middle managers; in order to insure the smoothimplementation of the program the GSD company should focus on incentive programspromotion, optimizing existing performance appraisal systemn, strengthen tracking andfeedback of incentive programs, at the same time, managers also provide people, funds,systems and cultural protection for the smooth implementation of incentive programs.
