In recent years, China’s logistics industry is developing rapidly, especially after recent decades of development, logistics has become the important influence factors of the economic development of our country and many parts of the emerging pillar industry. Many governments speed up the construction of logistics parks hoping that through the integration of logistics resources and the scale effect of the play to promote the development of local logistics industry. During the planning of logistics parks, whether its function layout is reasonable affect the efficiency of logistics park directly. An appropriate approach which could make function area layout optimally is the foundation of the logistics park planning and construction.The aim of this paper is to use the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, and draw experience from the beneficial experience of logistics parks planning at home and abroad, then put forward an overall framework of the function area layout of logistics parks which using the improved SLP (System Layout Planning). Based on logistics park demand forecast, the paper firstly calculated the land size of each function area. Then two improvements were made in the traditional SLP. One is to analyze the road traffic’s influence on the function area layout of logistics parks, view it as virtual functions and then establish a comprehensive relationship with entity functions in the park; The other one is after evaluated the comprehensive relationship, establish a mathematical model for function area layout and use genetic algorithm to solve the optimal layout instead of traditional artificial adjustment method. Finally, a case analyzing based on improved SLP was used to solve the function area layout and obtained a satisfactory layout plan. The method can provide theoretical support and decision references for the function area layout planning of logistics parks.
