The Research Of The Relation Between Sichuan Province’s Foreign Trade Structure And Industrial Structure

In the21st century, with the increasing contact around the world and the rapid development of economic globalization, all the countries are eager to achieve the resource complementary in global close economic exchanges. Thus, for the long time, the relation of trade structure and industrial structure is always the hot-spot in research of international economics. In fact, they not only complement each other, but also promote each other. That is to say, the change of industrial structure of a country or a region directly determines its economic strength and developing level, while its foreign trade structure also fully reflects the industrial competitiveness in the whole world and the status of international division. So the harmonious development of the foreign trade structure and industrial structure has a great significance for a country or a region in economic development. It offers an important guarantee for the harmonious and ongoing economic development.Since the reform of China, the economy of Sichuan Province has rapid developed and achieves a cross-developing time after time under the tide of West Development Strategy. With the gradual development of economic globalization, the opening degree of Sichuan economy is growing rapidly. It is active to expand the influence of foreign trade, and at the same time strives to transform the mode of economic growth, which is highly necessary for economic sustainable growth. What’s more, the western region now undertakes the burden of industrial transfer. How to promote foreign trade structure optimization to upgrade industrial structure and finally to form the benign interaction is a research topic with great practical significance.This article studies the relation between Sichuan Province’s foreign trade structure and industrial structure from the sight of structuralism.In terms of research objectives, this article will classify the composition of trade by labor intensive, capital and technology intensive and resource intensive. Compared with the vast majority of research that they classify the composition of trade by primary products and manufactured goods, this is more targeted and details to discuss the relationship between them. To be specific, this article is divided into five main parts as follows:First of all, is the Introduction, which briefly introduces the research background and its significance, make an overview the research status at home and abroad, summarize the research framework based on it, and points out the possible innovation and deficiency;The second part is some relative theories of these two areas. At first, this article reviews the relative theories of these two areas. Then, it summarizes the mechanism and way of interaction between them;The third part is the analysis of the development and situation of foreign trade structure and industrial structure in Sichuan Province. This part use the relative statistic data of Sichuan for30years of reform and opening-up, analyzes the foreign development of Sichuan and changes in the foreign trade structure, three times industrial structure of Sichuan, and three times industry internal structure, which provides the foundation for the following empirical research;The’fourth part is the empirical analysis of foreign trade and industrial structure of Sichuan province. First of all, based on the structural change effect model, using co-integration test and Granger causality analysis, this article analyzes the relationship of changes of import and export structure and industrial structure of Sichuan from1988to2012, and finds out that there is a long-term common development trend between them; The export structure change causes the change of industrial structure, but the import structure change has no causal relationship with industrial structure change; Then, according to the above conclusion, this article set up half logarithm model, and use regression analysis method to analyze how Sichuan’s export and import structure changes influence the industrial structure. That is the influence of import and export of classified products in Sichuan on the three-time changes of industrial structure. This article finds that the export of resource-intensive products in Sichuan is conductive to the increase of the proportion of primary industry; The export of labor-intensive products increases the portion of secondary industry; And the capital and technology-intensive products exports will inhibit the increase of the proportion of primary industry, but increase the proportion of the second and third industry in the national economy. As a result, the optimization of export structure in Sichuan will propel the development of the first industry to the second and third industry, and promote the industrial structure overall. While resource-intensive products import will be beneficial to the increase of the proportion of primary industry; the capital and technology-intensive products export is beneficial to the development of the third industry, and hinders the development of primary industry; three kinds of products import and export have not so much effects to the second industry, namely the import structure of the optimization has not so much effects to the industrial structure in Sichuan.The fifth part is conclusion and policy recommendations. This part makes a conclusion of this article, and then according to the results of the empirical analysis in the fourth chapter, aiming at how to optimize the industrial structure and the foreign trade structure in Sichuan to exert the linkage effect of foreign trade and industrial economy, puts forward some policy suggestions of rationalization.
