The development of China’s dairy industry can be traced back to the beginning of the new China, but truly entered a rapid development stage in1978after the reform and opening up. Currently, the dairy industry has become an important industry for resolving employment, promoting agricultural restructuring, leading farmers to get rich. And even in some areas it has becoming a dominant industry.Lacking of domestic consumer’s confidence in domestic dairy products, make the development of China’s dairy industry into a great dilemma. Even after several years of recovery after the situation has improved, but the face of foreign dairy products low price impact, how to further strengthen consumer confidence in the market and enhance the competitiveness of the dairy industry has become an urgent problem.Significance of this study lies in its theoretical and practical meaning. In the aspect of theory, based on Michael porter’s "diamond model", this paper analyzes the factors that affecting China’s dairy industry competitiveness, and builds the corresponding evaluation system of competitiveness. The theoretical framework for future analysis of the competitiveness of the dairy industry has a certain exploration effect. In the aspect of practice, by the results of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, this paper analyzes the key factors of affecting the regional competitiveness of dairy industry in China, and aims at the feature and shortage of the development of the dairy industry, puts forward the corresponding policy recommendations. It has an important practical significance on various regions in China dairy industry’s healthy and balanced development.The research object of this paper is China’s dairy industry, and the theoretical basis is Regional industrial competitiveness theory. Firstly, this paper sorts out the relevant literature industrial competitiveness and its evaluation, then analyzes of the development of China’s dairy industry, the regional distribution and competition, and researches the factors affecting dairy industry on regional competitiveness. Finally, this paper constructs the regional competitiveness evaluation system of dairy industry in our country and uses factor analysis to quantitative analysis. This paper can be divided into the following chapters.First chapter:Introduction. Through the research background and significance, points out the necessity of writing, then introduces the research contents and the proposed research methods and possible innovation place.Second chapter:Theoretical sources and literature review. This paper summary the industrial competitiveness study abroad theoretical foundation, development and industrial competitiveness evaluation typical model analysis. It provides a theoretical basis for the empirical analysis of the text.Third chapter:The development of China’s dairy industry and competitive analysis. This paper describes the development of China’s dairy industry, and analyzes the regional distribution characteristics of dairy industry and competition in detail.Four chapter:Build regional dairy industry competitiveness evaluation system. This paper is based on Michael porter’s "diamond" model, combines with the characteristics of the development of dairy industry in China, accords to the data availability, as well as the selecting principle of evaluation index system and selection of the nine evaluation index, constructs the evaluation system containing industry base, industry scale, industry performance, and industry safety.Five chapter:An empirical analysis of China’s the regional dairy industry competitiveness. This paper find out the most critical factors that affecting the regional competitiveness, and analyzes the competitive position of each region through each factor between the regions and the total score ranking.Six chapter:Conclusions and recommendations. This paper obtains the following three conclusions. Firstly, the factors affecting our regional dairy industry competitiveness are:industrial base and benefits, industrial needs and industrial safety. Secondly, industrial base and benefits is the biggest factor influencing the degree of the rankings. At last, North China Plain and Northeast China’s dairy industry is the most competitive region, central and western region is the weakest areas of China’s dairy industry competitiveness. Then according to these conclusions put forward to enhance the competitiveness of regional dairy products industry in China countermeasures. Firstly, for the most competitive areas of China’s dairy industry, such as Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang and Shandong, should further strengthen infrastructure construction, complete the supervision and management system, improve the yield and quality of milk, in order to secure the foundations of the dairy industry’s competitiveness. Secondly, for the upstream region rankings, such as Shanghai, Guangdong, Beijing and Jiangsu, should focus on enhancing the competitiveness of the enterprise. For the low-ranking districts, such as Gansu, Guizhou, Yunnan and Hainan, should focus on the overall development of the regional industry.Finally, the inadequate of this paper is not reflecting the impact of government actions and opportunities for regional competitiveness in the dairy industry in the evaluation system. Since the evaluation method used in this paper is the factor analysis which is a static comparison of the domestic regional dairy industry competitiveness, so it can not reflect the dynamic changes in the industrial competitiveness.
