Research On Inventory Management In Department Store Enterprise Of Commerce And Trade Of Tianjin

The inventory has two kinds of meanings with broad and narrow: The narrow view is:the inventory only means that supplies which are in a condition with temporary halt inwarehouse; the broad one is: the inventory means the temporarily idle resources for thepurpose of future. The function of inventory include adjust the contradiction betweensupply and demand、improve the efficiency of the enterprise、reduce the operating cost,even the speculative function. The inventory is like a double-edged sword that both productand commercial activities can not leave it. However, it also can make the enterprise in aserious trouble, if it not being properly managed. Inventory is the important current assetsfor the enterprise that engage in commercial wholesales. The stand or fall of management isdirectly related to the operating、subsistence and development of the enterprise. With thecorrelation enhanced between enterprises, the role of the supply chain becomes particularlyimportant. As the important part of the physical distribution and supply chain, inventorymanagement should be paid more attention.The current literature of inventory optimization research mainly includes twocategories: one research is focus more on inventory control of supply chain outside theenterprise. In other words, that is research how to achieve the profit maximize of partial orwhole supply chain; another research is focus more on inventory decision of some nodeenterprises on the supply chain. They research these node enterprises’ inventoryoptimization decision under a supply or demand characteristics.With the study of inventory management, most of the researches aim at manufacturingand medical industry. The current, the study of inventory and performance of commercialwholesale enterprises are relatively few. The empirical researches are less. So, in this paper,I choose Department Store Enterprise of Commerce and Trade of Tianjin as an example.Summarizing and analyzing the application of inventory management and existing problemof this enterprise. The article mainly analyzes the application and management of inventoryin this enterprise according to the existing problems, which combined with specificconditions of commercial wholesales. Then according to this enterprise’s owncharacteristics, formulate the suitable improvement measures to improve the enterprise’sinventory management system and make it achieve perfection.
