Research On Villager’s Welfare During Urban Village Reform In Yangling Demonstration Zone

Urban village means during the evolvement of f urbanization, city is expandinggradually to the rims, villages bordering cities are encircled and becoming a part of city. Butrestricted by the dualistic system of city and village, there is still strong village traits left interms of land property right, household register management, systems and mechanism, and soon as living environment. In recent years, when the combination of city and countryside isspeeding up, problems regarding facility, popularity quality, public security and so on isturning highlighted, urban villager’s desire to improve living environment is getting stronger,which attracted the upmost attention from local government and scholars.In order to improve the urban village living environment and enhance villager’s survivaland development skills, promote city standard, urban village reforming is pending to becarried out by local government. For the time being, academic world has done a large amountof enriched research viewed by city geography, economic systems, social culture and so on,purposeful viewpoint has been putting forward about the reforming model and idea. However,since the strong difference among local economy, compensation and settlement policy, serousimbalance is occurring in terms of urban villagers’ welfare guarantee, which sets the urbanvillage reform in a dilemma.In this thesis, based on reviewing and summarizing worldwide researches about urbanvillage reform and villages’ welfare, supported by welfare economics and sustainabledevelopment theories, exampled by the first round of urban village reform in Yanglingdemonstration zone which realized villagers of Mu Jiazhai, Du Jiapo and Dan Jiabaotransferring to storied buildings, the author makes a thorough analysis about change ofvillagers’ welfare before and after urban village reform in aspects of economic situation,social welfare, employment, living environment and psychological influence, summing upthe successful experience and innovative thinking in the process of urban village reform inYangling demonstration zone, raising an overall thought and effective method aiming atsafeguarding villagers’ benefits and improving urban village reform, which affords a precious lesson on remitting contradictions during the reform and advancing urban and countrysidecombination.
