The flexible working system (“FWA”) appeared in China in about1980s, and has agreat development in the following30years. The traditional fixed working arrangementlimits the employees’ working hours and working places, which cannot arrange theirwork scientifically in accordance with the work’s actual need. And it has been unable tofully meet the needs of the development of diversified economy today. But the FWA hasbroken the traditional working mode. For example, the flextime system andtelecommuting are the typical representatives of the FWA. The flextime system bringsflexible working hours, and the telecommuting brings flexibility of working hours andworking places to employees.This article selected311export members engaged in the steel export enterprises(hereinafter export members referred to export members are export-oriented steel tradecompanies) as the research object. The SPSS17.0statistical software was used to analyzethe data, and verify that the flexibility has a positive impact on improving theorganizational commitment and easing the job burnout. On this basis, this article firstlydiscussed the feasibility of FWA from four aspects: the popularity of Computer andInternet, legal environment, foreign trade companies operating mode, and exportmembers’s position features. Secondly, the value can be brought to foreign tradecompanies from four aspects: improve the efficiency of sales staff, reduce the overtimepayment, cut down the cost of foreign trade companies, and attract and retain good exportmembers. Finally, this article shows that foreign trading companies should combineflextime with telecommuting, and select FWA according to different export members,and focus on solutions of export members’ FWA.
