Retail market has become one of themost intense market competitions after foreign companies enter domestic market. More and moreretail enterprise have changed business pattern from single formats to multiple formats to avoidrisk and enhance competitiveness. In the process of rapid development, domestic retail formatsrevealed a complex and changeable situation. New different retail formats have come upconstantly. Formats structure is not reasonable, some retail formats’ development are over thescale, but some retail formats’ development are deficiency. The fluctuation of retail formatsincrease is larger, the original retail format need to be transformed the benefit differences amongall kinds of formats are larger. This entire phenomenon reflects China’s retail enterprisemanagement model is an urgent need to multiple formats system research.This study based on Retailing conflict theory and environmental theory and it hasmethodologically system analysis method, survey method, Description method. Compressivelydescribes the development of integrated retail formats situation, the main characteristics of retailformats and multi-format portfolio type. BeiGuoRenBai Group Co., Ltd. was established in2000,at first it is a single formats retail enterprise includes2department stores, BeiGuoRenBaiGroup Co., Ltd. gradually transformed into multiple formats enterprise include variety store, dimstore specialty store and supermarket, to adapt market demand and promote competitive ability.in the process of its development,because of over-expending led to uneven level of the storemanagement, market segmentation is not precise enough and other issues.BeiGuoRenBai GroupCo., Ltd. from single to multi-format format change management process is more suitable to ourmulti-format retail enterprise development process and its problems are also more representative,so this study selects it as example. On the basis of empirical analysis, combined with theBeiGuoRenBai Group Co., Ltd’ development status of each format, features, profitability andoperating results, to identify existing issues, propose the BeiGuoRenBai Group Co., Ltd’ multi-format business strategy.
