Research On Inventory Cost Of Nuclear Imported Spare Parts In The Supply Mode Of Backward Integration

Nuclear power enterprise attach great importance to the safe operation，therefore it thinkabout the safety much when considering nuclear power companies spare parts inventoryproblem. Meanwhile, in order to pursue high-quality spare parts for nuclear power, manynuclear power companies purchase imported spare parts. The imported spare parts, with thecharacteristics of long procurement cycle, uncertainty of logistics and the high cost, result in alarge backlog of inventory assets, while some of the imported spare parts are rarely used.Thus the inventory problem of nuclear imported spare parts is the problem that currentnuclear industry had to face.This paper studies domestic and foreign research about the spare parts management andthe theory of backward integration, and then defines to the supply mode of backwardintegration. Meanwhile it analyzes the feasibility and necessity for D nuclear power enterpriseto carry out the plan of supply mode of backward integration for the imported spare parts.After that, in order to quantify advantages of the new supply mode, it builds twomathematical models of the supply mode of purchasing and backward integration, whilevalidated by example. Finally, it validates the mathematical model by means of simulations.The results verified by an example of the mathematical model says: For selected spareparts, the best rated stocks dropped from15to12, total cost of spare parts falls77.4percent,the annual inventory turns increased from67.4%to170%. The results through the simulationsays: After carrying out the supply mode of backward integration while nuclear power plantsoperating for100years, the best rated stocks dropped from13to12, total cost of spare partsfalls78.8percent, with the reducing of the accumulation of stock risk. Therefore, carryingout the supply mode of backward integration can reduce spare parts inventory and total cost,improving turnover and security.
