Performance appraisal is an important part of human resources management, which alsoreflects the effectiveness and efficiency of enterprise management activities. Modernperformance appraisal is not a simple evaluation of staff performance, it serves the corporatestrategic objectives, and controls the process of achieving objectives, to ensure successfullyachieve their goals. In face of increasingly competitive market incentives, traditionalmanufacturing enterprises must not only improve the technical level, but also raise themanagement level. Today, various companies are hoping to retain talent and make full use ofthe potential of existing talent, growing a high-performance organization. Therefore, it hasnaturally become an important issue how to optimize the performance appraisal situation andconstantly improve the performance and management level.BY Company is a large manufacturing enterprise; the manufacturing department is a coredepartment. Optimizing the manufacturing department s performance is good for improvingthe whole company’s performance appraisal level. This paper takes the manufacturingdepartment of BY Company as the object of study. Based on the human resourcesperformance appraisal theory and practice, analysis of current situation of performanceappraisal in BY manufacture department and summarize the problem to be solved. Withmodern performance appraisal methods and tools, design a KPI-based performance appraisalsystem for the manufacturing department in BY and use Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) tocalculate the index s weight. Design and regulate the examination and assessment, appraisalcycle, KPI scoring criteria, the performance appraisal table etc, which eventually form acomplete set of performance appraisal system. Assess the effectiveness and rationality of thenew performance appraisal system by comparing the old and new performance appraisalsystem, satisfaction survey and the change of manufacturing labor productivity afterimplementing the new performance appraisal system. The research has reference value andsignificance for other domestic manufacturing enterprise.
