The Effect Of Modern Agricultural Industry Technology System

By the end of2007, Department of Agriculture and Finance launched pilot project ofnational modern agricultural technology system. Since the pilot started, several provincesactively explore to bulid local innovation team of modern agricultural technology system.This study has focused on the effect of Beijing modern agricultural industrial technologysystem, Vegetable, Hog, Ornamental Fish, for example. Both descriptive and econometricanalysis were conducted to study the impacts of institutional innovation, human capitaldevelopment, technology needs of farmers, people’s livelihood and competitiveness ofBeijing agricultural products. Discovered problems in team building and put forwardsuggestions for the following work.The main results of this study show that:1) Three types of technology divided byfarmers’ demand of research resolved recent and current problems of farmers’ production.Effect of innovation team appeared immediately.2) Research and development, technicalservices got remarkable achievements. Innovation team established and improved themechanism for handling emergency event and saved huge loss of agricultural production.3)FFS workstation increased productivity of corresponding industry and competitiveness ofrelated products, reduced cost. Economic benefit was remarkable.Based on the conclusions above, the following policies are recommended:1) Theindustry chain of the product should be extended under the premise of emergency suppliesof Beijing agricultural products without problem.2) Responsibilities of three type of job setup by technology should be clarified. Team members’ task and evaluation indexes shouldbe scientifically studied.3) Agrotechnical station should be integrated into innovative teamas grassroot organizations. Technology promotion and service of responsible system shouldbe executed.4) The research of themes like contradiction between big market and smallindustries in capital, government’s subsidies for farmers, sustainable development ofcorresponding industries should be carried out.5) A long-term mechanism should beestablished and innovation work should be institutionalized.
