The development of science depends on the growth and agglomeration ofacademical talents. This study will analyzethe professorsof “The Cheung KongScholars Program” between1999-2009by literature review and statisticaldescription.It wishes to explore the academicalgrowth path of the newgeneration of academic talents from the change of education path and careerpath.The study found the main characteristics of theeducation path ofprofessorsof “The Cheung Kong Scholars Program” includes:1.Learn the majorsuccessively is an important foundation for the growth of professorsof “TheCheung Kong Scholars Program”;2.There are two main ways to accumulateadvantages, one is sticking to the colleges and universitieswhichhave specialadvantages, the other is pursuing the colleges and universities which havespecial advantages.The study found the main characteristics of thecareer path ofprofessorsof “The Cheung Kong Scholars Program” includes:1. High startingpoint of occupation contributes to the development of academic career ofprofessorsof “The Cheung Kong Scholars Program”;2. Professorsof “TheCheung Kong Scholars Program” would form the Matthew effectincareerdevelopment by realizing promotion of personaloccupationrapidly;3.Workingexperience in domestic and overseas are the essences and accelerator of thedevelopment of academic career of professorsof “The Cheung Kong ScholarsProgram”respectively;4. The career change which oriented tothe colleges anduniversities or majors which have special advantages will help the professorsof“The Cheung Kong Scholars Program” to accumulate and diffuse the advantagesof the development of academic career;5. Different academic environmentbetween domestic and overseas lead the growth of the professorsof “The CheungKong Scholars Program” into being two types.Then based on the results and discoveries, this study will give somerelevantpolicy implicationsfrom three levelsindividuals, universities and nation:1. Those interested in academic reaserch need more to learn and work at the high quality academic platform continuously for long-term;2. Universitiesneedmore to focus on developing their own advantageddiscipline, and furtherstrengthen to bring up the local academical talents;3. The state need to furtherstrengthen the construction of the domestic first-class colleges and universities,and as the carrier to perfect and innovatethe mechanism of talent training whichwill help the domestic academical talents grow up fastly.
