Along with the development ofProject management, its applying field is widening. And now, it has also been widelyuse in the manufacture of motor vehicles and parts.Although the development of China, automobile industry has made greatprogress, it hasn’t established an effective system of product development and projectmanagement. Product development and management still remains in the traditionalmanagement model, and compared with some other countries we have a large gap inauto and parts industry. With the aggravation of the internationalization process andthe increasing of numerous opportunities, the competition is more intense, and themarket is also more severe. In order to survive and keep sustainable development, it isa must for the enterprises to constantly develop new products. In the automotive partsindustry, the success of product development depends on the technology innovationand application in part and the project management in the other part. And its speciallydepends on the organization of the project environment, schedule and risk control.Therefore, the research of auto parts enterprises in project management is greatlysignificance for the enterprises to improve the competitiveness of productdevelopment.The main contents of this paper were to learn how to use the thoughts andmethods of project management to optimize product measurement technology liftingfor auto parts. Through the investigation of Shanghai FM company which is an autoparts company, this paper introduced the company and the principal products of it,and analyzed the status of crush height measurement and characteristics of thecompany’s product development. Then combining with the instance of productdevelopment project of FM, used the pay of project management, firstly determinedthe organizational structure of the project, the project startup, secondly used the work breakdown (WBS), critical path method (CPM) and network diagram to determine theoptimal project plan, thirdly used Gantt chart Project schedule. In accordance withrisk identification procedures, this paper comprehensively an analyzed and identifiedthe risks of Technical Improvement project of shanghai FM, and assessed these risks,work out relative action plan and implement countermeasure, and finally reviewedthis technical improvement project.Through the analysis of Project management of Technical Improvement ofShanghai FM. first of all, this paper improved the management Processes of newproduct development Project and introduced a new concept of product developmentfor the company.
