The R&D actions of the automobile and its components are complicated and systemic engineering. All kinds of unknown events of an automobile component will occur from development, launch through the end of product lifecycle and will bring a huge and fatal risk to the project team members and company. For instant, the global recall impact on Toyota in 2009 is much bigger than the impact of recall cost. Therefore it is the important subject analysis regarding the new product development project risk management for automobile component.This thesis raises the important position of project risk management in the project management according to the analysis of current status of auto and it components industry. The project risk management is quoted from project management and risk management, which emphasizes the process of new product development of auto components. The risk is able to be under control by the good master of the relative methods and tools. To some extent, it could be handled by the identification, analysis, treat and monitor of risk. As per the author's experience and knowledge in auto electronic products development projects, the methods and tools of risk matrix, FMEA and milestone/object review are analyzed in the application respectively and are expounded regarding the significance, process and practical application. It will not only be helpful for the application in the daily job based on the availability of the good operation but also be favor of saving plenty of quality non-compliance cost within the project early phase. The quality non-compliance cost in the early phase is the least during the whole product lifecycle. The application of these three methods will improve the project economics. The three methods are good practical and operation in the daily work and practice. It is also the main cause why they are popular.This thesis conjuncts the theory research with the practical application.
