| Counties as China’s basic regions in economic and social development, the developmentof county economy is very important to realize the stability and good development ofeconomy and society. As the difference of natural resources, capital, technology, talent andcomparative advantage among counties, the development of county economy has obviousdifferences and non equilibrium. Xinjiang “Twelfth Five Year Plan” clearly put forward topromote regional coordinated development vigorously. Moreover, strengthen research oncounty competitiveness, the purpose intend to make the optimal allocation of countyresources in a larger areas which it belongs, and form its own characteristics to realize better,faster development of county. Therefore, this paper studies the comprehensivecompetitiveness of economy in Xinjiang county through time and space dimensions,concludes the spatial pattern evolution of comprehensive competitiveness, analyzes theformation mechanism of the spatial differences of county economy, in order to providereference for government when making policies of regional economic development.This paper analyzes the economic growth clustering and the cause of formation ofgrowth clustering among counties in Xinjiang. The results indicate that the county economicgrowth has an obviously spatial correlation and the economic growth has an obviously clusterin the geographical space. Ignoring the spatial effects causes the deviation of model setting.The counties of high level in economic growth are concentrated in the northern regions ofXinjiang, meanwhile the counties of low level are concentrated in the southern regions ofXinjiang. The gap of economic growth is significant between southern and northern regions.Factors such as human capital, capital investment, urbanization and industrialization play asignificant role in promoting regional economic growth. Therefore, it is suggested that allkinds of policies should be taken to promote the factors flow freely among regions, speed upthe process of urbanization and industrialization, increase efforts to the construction of thefast transportation network and promote the coordinated development of regional economy.By the analysis of time-space evolution characteristics of comprehensivecompetitiveness of county economy, this paper draw the following conclusions: Thecomprehensive competitiveness at county level in Xinjiang shows significantly positivespatial autocorrelation, and the agglomeration effect is continuously strengthened. The developed counties in Northern Xinjiang which comprehensive competitiveness is relativelystrong have a strong radiative and drive effect on neighborhoods, while undeveloped countieswith less economic competitiveness almost concerntrate in Southwest of Southern Xinjiang.The spatial difference of economic competitiveness in the direction of South-North andNortheast-Southwest is significant, and the homogeneousness of economic development inthe Southeast-Northwest direction is typical for its relatively small spatial difference.Economic spatial pattern roughly presents plain structure in Southern Xinjiang and dual-corestructure in Nouthern Xinjiang.This paper is divided into five parts: Chapter One introduces this research’s backgroud,significance and objectives, sorts out the relative domestic and abroad research andsummarizes the research method and basic thoughts; Chapter Two describes the presentsituation of county’s economic development in Xinjiang, analyzes the factors of Xinjiangcounty’s economy differences and studies the phenomenon of economic growth clustering byspatial econometric model; Chapter Three establishes the comprehensive competitivenessevaluation index system, evaluates the comprehensive competitiveness of Xinjiang countiesusing the method of principal component analysis and finally analyzes the evaluation results;Chapter Four uses the methods of exploratory spatial data analysis, semivariogram function,and kriging spatial interpolation to study the spatial pattern evolution of county economiccomprehensive competitiveness in Xinjiang by using the comprehensive score of eighty-fivecounties in1996,2001,2006and2011. The mechanism of economic spatial difference isanalysed, then the mechanism of economic spatial difference is analyzed based on the view of“4D”; Chapter Five summarizes the main conclusions of the whole research, and based on theabove anysis, this paper proposes the countermeasures to enhance the comprehensivecompetitiveness and narrow the economic gap among counties in Xinjiang. |
