Toyota Motor Company is an excellent world-class manufacturer. Thedevelopment of Toyota benefits from the competitive and representative businessecosystem constructed by Toyota,whose core is Toyota. The production enterprisenetwork based on collaboration among enterprises in Toyota’s business ecosystem is animportant factor of Toyota has a sustainable competitive advantage. Therefore,thisarticle chooses the production enterprise network of Toyota’s business ecosystem asthe research object.According to the definition of business ecosystem by James f. Moore and therelationship between Toyota and its cooperative enterprises,this article establishes amodelof Toyota’s business ecosystem. This article mainly studies the core of Toyota’sbusiness ecosystem: Toyota’s production enterprise network. Based on the collecteddata this article maps the enterprise network diagram of Toyota’s business ecosystem.Using social network analysis method, the paper analyzes the centrality of Toyota’sbusiness ecosystem production enterprise network from the aspects of network sizeand density, degree centrality, betweenness centrality, small groups andcore-periphery.The paper mapps the production enterprise network diagram of Aisin Seiki whichis one of keystones in Toyota’s business ecosystem. The paper analyzes the centralityof Aisin Seiki’s production enterprise network using social network analysis method.Through contrastive analysis of centrality, it is concluded that the structure ofToyota’s production enterprise network and Aisin Seiki production enterprises has agreat similarity, the paper also mapps the Toyota’s production enterprise networkorganization chart:"complex star network structure". It is concluded that "complexstar network structure" is generally applicable to the general production enterprisenetwork.The article draws out the Toyota’s production enterprise network backbonestructure diagram. Aisin Seiki’s production enterprise network also has similarstructure characteristics. It is showed that the network backbone structure diagram canrepresent common production enterprise network structure characteristics, which istypical and representative in the production of enterprise network.Using complex network theory, this article analyzes the production enterprise network of Toyota’s business ecosystem network. The result indicates that Toyota’sproduction network belongs to complex network, because it has small-world effectand scale-free property. The result lays the foundation of further analysis of operationand management mode of Toyota’s business ecosystem. The result also providestheoretical basis for recongnizing the architectural feature research of generalproduction enterprise network. The result also provides theoretical basis for thefurther research of the relationship among node enterprises, collaborative productionmechanism, and Information transfer mechanism in production enterprise network.
