Engineering machinery is an important equipment in the national economy construc-tion and plays an irreplaceable role in the national equipment manufacturing industry. Theurgent need of infrastructure promotes the development of engineering machinery. Digitalworkshop’s development will have a significance influence and positive technical value onthe engineering machinery. The production logistics is one of the most important aspectsin the digital workshop of engineering machinery, moreover, it is the fountainhead of re-ducing costs and improving competitiveness of product. Since the features of mul-ti-varieties and small-batch of engineering machinery production, the production logisticsof assembly workshops become highly complex. By optimizing the production logisticsmodel in the workshop and enhancing the monitoring level of production logistics process,the efficiency and the transparency of the material delivery process can be greatly im-proved. In this paper, these key technologies are studied and a logistics system is designedand applied in an assembly workshop of engineering machinery. The main content is asfollows:First of all, this paper analyzes the current condition of production logistics in the as-sembly workshop of engineering machinery,and proposes the main problems and objec-tives of production logistics. The overall designing plan of the production logistics isconducted also.Then, this paper designs the overall process of the production logistics for the assem-ble workshop and proposes the detailed design for the crucial sub-process of the produc-tion logistics, including material requirements sending process, warehouse sorting pro-cess, station logistics delivery and receiving confirmation process, assembly error preven-tion process and assembly files generating process.Next, this paper describes the demands of logistics resource monitoring and posi-tioning in the assembly workshop. Therefore, the technology of the Internet of things isapplied in the assembly workshop in order to monitor the logistics process. The monitor-ing objects includes the line edge materials monitoring, warehouse sorting and groupingprocess monitoring, logistics delivering process monitoring.Finally, based on the research results of the above, this paper designs the productionlogistics execution system and illustrates the hardware design software scheme and func- tional modules of the system. This paper also analyzes the system future prospects. In theend, the direction of future research of the production logistics in manufacturing is con-cluded.
