Research On Supply Chain Management In Multinational Operations

With the advance of economic globalization, more and more enterprises begin tocarry out cross-border operations and integrate the global resources through the supplychain management. The competitiveness of enterprises in the international market containsnot only the competition of products, but also supply chains. Through optimizing supplychain management to continually reduce the supply chain costs, to improve customerservice levels, and then form the core competitiveness is the key to win the globalcompetition. At present, Chinese enterprises’ supply chain management has just started.Under the background of economic globalization and multinational operations, it isimperative for Chinese enterprises to learn advanced supply chain management experienceand to explore a competitive and appropriate supply chain management.This thesis tries to study the supply chain management in multinational operations.First, the thesis elaborates the basic theory of supply chain and supply chain management,including the concepts and targets. Then the thesis uses SCOR model system to introducethe construction and evaluation of a supply chain, and then analyzes the new challengesfor supply chain management in multinational operations. Next, the thesis deeply analyzesthe process and structure of Huawei’s supply chain management by using the method ofcase study and theoretical analysis. The article researches Huawei’s planning andscheduling management, forecasting management, purchasing management, sales andorder management, inventory management, and then lists some detailed performanceevaluation indicators for each operational process. Finally, drawing on the mode ofHuawei’s supply chain management, the thesis provides some suggestions to optimize thesupply chain management of Chinese multinationals.The suggestions are as follows: establish a global supply chain strategic alliance,change the business processes and organizational structure, and use technology toestablish IT systems to optimize the entire supply chain.
