Knitted fabric industry is a traditional industry with resource hogs inChina. Because production cost rises sharply in recent years and the externalcustomer requirements become diversified, the knitted industry is facing abig pressure. How to relieve the operating pressure becomes the industrialissue. But the quality is the development cornerstone of this industry and costcutting should not be based on the premise of the loss of quality. Afterinvestigation and analysis, we found that the average level of quality in theindustry is only about3σ, which means that internal quality loss costaccounts for25%to30%of business sales. From this aspect, Y company stillhas a large improvement potential.Y company had historically been a leader in this industry and is still anexcellent representative now. Its history is a microcosm of knitted fabrics industry. In this paper, the product quality management of Y knittingcompany was addressed with both empirical and theoretical analysis andfinally the author puts forward the systematic quality managementimprovement strategies.The quality management situation of Y company is firstly analyzed in thispaper based on process control and quality management system in this paperand the author found the five issues, which is embodied in unsoundstandardization management, scattered quality management information,weak quality process control, deficiency of process quality improvementmechanisms, and passive response to external quality managementchallenges.With above issues, the author makes classification analysis from threeaspects: inside the enterprise, outside the enterprise and corporate continuousimprovement. And the author puts forward the corresponding improvementstrategies in accordance with the nature of the problem. In the paper, internalquality management improvement solutions mainly focuses on thequality-oriented organization management system, quality managementinformation integration and standardization management. Enterprise externalquality management is mainly on supplier quality management from theback-end, quality management by cooperation with front-end clients and supply chain quality management integrating front-end with back-end.Besides, the paper summarizes the feasible continuous improvement waysand means of performance evaluation on corporate continuous improvement.
