This paper analyzes and studies the various critical factors which influence thesuccess or failure of project, as well as the level which various key factors impact onfor reaching the expected objectives, during the ERP implementation process in Chinafrom the enterprise’s and the user’s point of viewThe key factors refer to management issues and organizational fields which mustbe given special and continuous attention to for the organization want to obtain higherperformance. By identifying critical success factors, managers can put limitedresources into the most important place and guide the implementation of the projectthrough monitoring of these critical success factors.Prior to the implementation of ERP in enterprises, the specific and measurablegoals or results that you want to achieve should be setted, which is a prerequisite forthe measurement and evaluation of the success of ERP project implementation. Thefactors influencing the success of project, should be included as following from theperspective of business users:(1) having a clear strategy and operable informatizationstrategy. It should be an important part of the strategy of a enterprise;(2) the systemselection. Each ERP system has their own successful cases, but for selection of ERPsystem, we should choose suitable type of ERP based on well know of our ownbusiness operation and management and the advantages and disadvantages of ERPsystem because various enterprise has different culture and business model, as well asthe staff cognitive ability;(3) the ability of CIO. For implementation of the ERPproject, CIO should have very strong organization and coordination skills, as well assufficient cognition to the actual business activities and the principle of ERP because such comprehensive ability of CIO will make a great influence on the success of theproject;(4) the implementation method. Many relevant personnel’s operation habitswill be changed in implementation of ERP, especially in domestic enterprises. Becausethese changes need adopt appropriate method with considerable foundation of IT;(5)operating personnel’s experience and competence;(6) input of project personnel;(7)the accurate and prompt of data;(8) the power of continuous improvement.From the perspective of CIO of a domestic enterprise group, this papersummarizes and analyzes the critical factors of the success of the project, an then sortsthe order of these factors, by using the experimentation of author’s full control andsuccessful implementation on a ERP project, in order to provide reference for theenterprise who is ongoing or planning the implementation of ERP and then theenterprise can use limited resources on the most important place.
