National Industry District is the highest economic zone in China. Supported byadvanced policy and abundant finance, the industry and urban structure are fastdeveloping. The initial aspiration of National Zones is to promote economic benefits. The built of large industry parks have resulted in magnificent spatial evolution in thecity. It has been9years since Tianjin Binhai NewArea became National IndustryDistrict. During the time, theArea has changed a lot. Industrial space agglomeration andCBD construction occurred as long as the increasingly high skyline. However, everycoin has two sides. Fast industry expansion leads to several major problems such as theloss of civil life and the unsustainable industry structure. All these problems call foradvanced developing methods on urban form, such as upgrading and transformingexisting industry, and introducing public facilities. The Center Zone in theAreashoulders the responsibility to provide public services. Now it consists of severaldistinctive parts including the CBD. The Center Zone should seek for better ways toserve as living and public core spaces, to support for nearby industry zones. Therefore, the study is aiming at finding the strategy for Center Zone to develop functionally andsustainably from the perspective of urban morphology.Based on field and literature researches, the author extracts a clear clue of how thecity evolved. The past can be divided into four periods:“single function group period”,“dual cores of harbor-city structure period”,“TEDAinfluencing period” and “nationalpolicy influencing period”.Also, the study contains the investigation of social andeconomic background of each period to finally conclude the evolution influencingfactors and internal mechanism. The urban evolution in Center Zone, to sum up, wasbased on multi-center development groups. They expanded independently and reachedout to each other gradually. In addition, the author comes up with four strategies forCenter Zone based on the analysis of current problems in texture, land use, transportation, etc. and the analysis of developing trends from multiple perspectivessuch as technology development, national policy and recent construction. Finally, developing prospects in three different conditions are simulated to predict the future morphological evolution of the city. In conclusion, different parts of the Center Zoneshould cooperate with each other. When they can make a balance and strive for the samegoal, they will develop better and accomplish the rise of CBD.
