Since 1960s, with the development of show caves, such as reed flute cave, qi-xing cave and du-le cave, cave tourism has become a new measure to improve regional economic income and local image. During the following thirty years of 1960s, domestic tourism of cave attractions appeared "building-frenzy ", and soon encounters "collapse-frenzy". According to statistics in the Karst Scenery Cave Conference in 2006, China has been open caves to the tourist more than 400. some had been developed into famous tourist attractions. Although, the statistic have been stagnated more than 8 years since 2006, a large number of local show caves have begun to spring up. The accurate numbers of show caves could be considerably higher than the former data. For this reason, the underlying data of our show caves must be summarized to provide guidance for their healthy and stable development.This paper collected statistics from China Karst cave database, tourism attractions from every region and Tong-cheng tourism network(www.17u.net), Xin-xin tourism network (www.cncn.com), Tourism interconnection network(www.nettvl.com)and so on. Collected show caves based on above mentioned media, and got 743 show caves in China. This paper tries to analyze collected statistics from following perspectives:the places, opening time, quality and grade, theme, official website, ticket price and then got following results:(1) The total number of current show cave spots are 743 except in Ningxia and Shanghai; The total numbers of show cave attractions are 370 except in Shanghai, Tianjin. Qing hai, Inner-Mongolia, Tibet. Per-capita share of resources keep consistency with quantitative distribution of show cave attractions, yet the scale presents opposite situation.(2) There are 172 A-grade show cave attractions in china, it obviously presents "spindle structure" from 5A grade to 1A grade.2 show cave attractions centered World Natural Heritage,4 show cave attractions centered World Geo-park,22 show cave attractions centered National Geo-park of China,25 show cave attractions centered National Park of China.(3) From the perspective of time, the number of show cave attractions officially opened has been rise steadily during recent 40 years, the largest component was in the mid-1980s, in the early 90s and 2003-2008, which more than 44.79%. Yearly concentration index of show cave attractions is 0.0149, indicates that the values of inter-annual difference are more or less dispersed.(4) From the perspective of space, the show cave spots present embodied situation, the results show that the Nearest point index R=0.49, Thiessen polygon coefficient of variation of area CV=434.09%. In seven regions, the show cave spots Gini coefficient G≈0.857, Distribution uniformity degree C=0.143, Unbalanced index S=0.45, indicates that China’s show cave spots distribution is highly centralized and imbalance in seven geographical regions.(5) According to the statistical results, the current show cave attractions can be divided into the following several types:geological tourism, history and religion tourism, science education tourism, military theme tourism, medical and health care tourism, underground drift tourism and other themes tourism.(6) The ticket price of 4A-grade show cave attractions are quite higher than other grades, the 5 A-grade show cave attractions is relatively reasonable. The ticket price of show cave attractions is also higher than other tourism attractions. Geographically speaking, northeast region’s ticket price show caves attractions are highest(RMB 127.5), the price of central areas is the lowest(RMB 83.5), western regions’ ticket price is 92.6 yuan, eastern region’s ticket price is 90.1 yuan.(7) The official websites of show cave attractions mainly distribute in the eastern economically developed areas, Guangdong, Anhui and Guangxi provinces are second only to Zhejiang.Website construction also faces obvious challenges, such as lack of the beauty, rationality, service function and virtual tour.
