There are many differences in aspects of resources endowment and the economic development level among countries and even regions. However, it is because of these differences, different countries have their comparative advantages and cooperation is the key to implement these advantages. For the energy-rich region of Central Asian which is located in the hinterland of the Eurasian continent and China which is in lack of energy, transportation cooperation is an indispensable part to carry out their comparative advantages. Considering the special situation between China and Central Asian countries,this paper firstly uses the theory of traffic geography to analyze the importance of transportation construction in the economic cooperation between China and central Asian countries, and to expound the correlation between Transportation and economic growth.In the. aspect of present situation of cooperation, China and Central Asian countries has achieved many breakthroughs in the fields of system construction and functional cooperation. And since the "Silk Road Economic Belt" has been put forwarded in 2013, realizing the bi-connectivity between China and Central Asian countries becomes the starting point and the foothold of the bilateral cooperation. The transport cooperation achievements between China and Central Asian countries, on the one hand, has deepen the economic and trade relations between the two parties, making economic interdependence become more strengthening, especially in the field of import and export trade between China’s Xinjiang uygur autonomous region and Central Asia countries. On the other hand, from the point of actual development situation, transportation cooperation between China and central Asian countries still exist many problems and can’t meet the demand of further development of bilateral economic cooperation. Those obstacles are reflected in the factors of topography and climate, mechanism construction, power competition and the security problem of Central Asia itself, etc. Therefore, strengthening the cooperation of mechanism supplemented by the corresponding policy support, dealing effectively with the difficulties encountered in the process of the transportation cooperation is the key to ensure the transportation cooperation carry out smoothly in a long time. From the point of prospects for the transportation cooperation, this paper put forwards the long-term goal which is to establish a comprehensive transportation system and "Stereoscopic Silk Road".
