Small and medium-sized enterprises are important impetus to the growth of national economy and main source of local fiscal revenue. As human resource has become important in small and medium-sized enterprises, for small and medium-sized enterprises, how to design reasonable and effective compensation system, arouse the enthusiasm of employees, make them give full play to the subjective initiative in the work, for the rational utilization of resources, in order to achieve the long-term survival and development of the enterprise has great significance. However, limited by their scale and ability in compensation system establishing, lack of scientific reasoning, their salary incentive mechanism designation is more likely to be unscientific. Therefore this paper uses the enterprise growth theory, human capital theory, principal-agent theory, incentive theory, and game theory and behavior theory in the theory of compensation for theoretical analysis, considering the incentive effects of compensation gap and blocking effect. And this paper carried out an empirical analysis of small and medium-sized enterprise board listed in Shenzhen stock exchange, to explore the impact of internal wage gap in small and medium-sized enterprise among the senior management personnel, and among senior management and ordinary employees to its growth. The results show that the relative wage gap among senior management personnel in small and medium-sized enterprises has no significant influence on the growth of enterprise, and wage gap among senior management personnel and ordinary employees has a significant impact on enterprise growth, with interval effect, wage gap within a certain scope expansion will accelerate the development of enterprises, when exceeds a certain critical value would turn out to hinder enterprises to grow, it is recommended that small and medium-sized enterprises to establish a transparent compensation system, to manage and control the wage gap among employees within a reasonable range.
