Disruptive innovation is a new innovation model that claims to provide the value proposition of "enough, simpler, more convenient and cheaper", and enters into the low-end market or new niche market. China, India and other developing countries have the vast countryside. It is a huge "low-end" or "non-customer" group and provides the most abundant "soil" for developing disruptive innovation. Therefore, enterprises in developing countries will effectively make the leap into growth and obtain the late-mover advantage with the disruptive innovation.Organizational learning theory points out that, sustainable organizational learning is useful to promote innovation performance. At present, the business environment is more and more complex and unstable. Enterprises gradually tend to build ambidextrous learning model——exploitation learning and exploration learning. The former can fully use existing knowledge resources and the latter is helpful to obtain more new knowledge resources.Enterprise innovation is a process that makes full use of knowledge resources and captures new opportunities constantly in different kinds of learning models. How can developing countries’ enterprises make full use of ambidextrous learning to obtain different knowledge and technology to realize a great leap growth? This is an important and urgent problem.By reviewing the existing research, some scholars begin a limited attempt to empirically study the influence from ambidextrous organization learning to innovation, however, there is none empirical study about the relationship between ambidextrous organization learning and innovation disruptive. So it’s difficult to give effective recommendations for enterprise practice. Therefore, this article with organizational ambidextrous view, discuss how exploration learning and exploitation learning and their interaction can influence disruptive innovation in STI industry and in DUI industry.By reviewing the existing research, we construct a research model and some assumptions, and use the 208 companies’ data to test the model empirically. Results show that, whether in STI industry or in DUI industry, exploration learning has a positive effect on disruptive innovation performance, but exploitation learning has no effect on disruptive innovation performance. In STI industry, the interaction of the two learning has a negative effect on disruptive innovation performance. In DUI industry, the interaction of the two learning has a positive effect on disruptive innovation performance. This study has extended the research of organizational ambidextrous theory, organizational learning theory and disruptive innovation theory. Also, it explores how organizational ambidextrous learning influences disruptive innovation performance in different industry types. So this research has certain guidance for enterprise practice.
