Since the reform and opening up, Chinese have been developing greatly export-oriented economy, actively integrating into the global value chain, which makes the total amount of trade grow rapidly, become one of the largest trading nations, and Chinese manufacturing has become an important mark of world. Chinese export of manufactured goods drives economic growth, however, at the same time, there are also more serious problems. For example, the large trade surplus leading to the trade friction, extensive mode of growth, poor quality of manufactured goods, low value-added and so on. so China position in the global value chain need to re- position. Upgrading is eagerly. Studying on the factors of China export manufacturing upgrading is significant.Recently, many scholars have done a lot of studies on the upgrading of export manufacturing, But mainly focus on the theory, and most of them are from the perspective of total export value, little from the perspective of domestic added value of export manufactured goods. Therefore, this article from the perspective of domestic value-added re-examines the status of Chinese export-oriented manufacturing industry in the global value chain by using the method of mathematical model and empirical analysis, and give the detail study on factors of influencing Chinese export manufacturing upgrading. The specific contents are as follows:Firstly, Giving the definition of export manufacturing and industrial upgrading, pointing out the factors of influencing Chinese export manufacturing upgrading: Labor, capital, technology and so on. Based on the perspective of domestic value-added, establishing the model of factors of influencing Chinese export manufacturing upgrading, Coming to conclusions: increasing skilled workforce, non-skilled workforce, capital and technology lead to increasing domestic value-added of export manufactured goods.Secondly, Describing the development history of Chinese export manufacturing and the status quo of integrating into the global value chain. China export industry has developed rapidly and gradually integrates into the global value chain. Showing the defect of traditional statistical method which using trade gross value, then pointing out scientific and significant measure by using domestic value-added, giving the calculation method of the domestic value-added, Comparing nations’ domestic value-added of export manufactured goods. Finding that domestic value- added of export manufactured goods in China decreased significantly.Thirdly, two aspects are concluded: One is to select ten representative countries during the relevant year data for a panel data analysis, pointing out that the influence of manufacturing upgrading of fixed capital, patent applications and the number of employees and other variables on the national export is different. The two is to analysis Chinese nine industries: there is a positive correlation between the number of employees, per capital labor, fixed capital and patent and domestic value-added of export manufactured goods in China. The patent application quantity has the biggest impact on domestic value-added, the number of employees in manufacturing industry is the smallest, the amount of capital is in the middle.Lastly, Giving the summary of this paper and putting forward the related policy suggestions: Strengthening the training of labor, improving the quality of labor, Strengthening investment to the emerging industry, encouraging innovation and developing strategic industry and so on.This study is to expand and deepen the theory of export manufacturing industry upgrading, and has a certain significance of reference.
