South-eastern Part Of China’s Gansu Province Based On The "Pole-axis" Spatial System

As China’s new round of western development strategy in full swing, the regional economic of southeast area of Gansu province entered the crucial period. In the new regional development strategy of Gansu province, southeast area of Gansu province is defined as a part of the total to promote development and prosperity together. In recent years, town development level enhances unceasingly of Four cities in southeast area of Gansu province, infrastructure construction has made great change, and regional spatial structure has been great changes have taken place. Using "point-axis system" theory with the huge application value, to build the best regional economic spatial structure in Four cities in southeast area of Gansu province, for the formation and optimize of the best joint pattern of regional development and formulating the development safeguard measures adapt to regional features, and so on, has the extremely vital significance.On the basis of delving into explore the regional spatial structure theory and the theory of "point-axis system", embarking from the practical application, the research built key development axis of regional economy in southeast area of Gansu province and gaved the relevant optimization advice and safeguard measures, in order to realize the efficient and rapid economic development in that. Including the following five aspects of specific content.In the first chapter, the study analyzed the background and significance of the study, and clarifies the concept of regional spatial structure, main content and its theoretical basis. Besides, in this section, the purpose of the application of "point-axis system" theory to build regional spatial structure in southeast area of Gansu province was given, and the purpose, content, procedures, methods, and the data source of this study were specified.In the second chapter, the study analyzed the current situation level and the advantages and disadvantages of regional economic development in Four cities in southeast area of Gansu province though using three aspects such as natural conditions, social and economic development conditions and location conditions, and mainly analyzed the development foundation of Four cities from resource conditions and industrial foundation. Futher, this section discussed the external and internal conditions change on the influence of regional economic development in Four cities. Accordingly, the following conclusions can be drawn. The development level of regional economy in Four cities lags behind that of most areas in the province and is not consistent with the degree of population. Energy, mineral resources, biological resources and tourism resources are abundant in southeast area of Gansu province, and there are complementary to each other between Four cities. The change on international environment and domestic environment provides a good condition for the regional economy development of Four cities.In the third chapter, the study analyzed the development status of "point-axis" spatial structure according to the development level of urban system and infrastructure, and pointed out the problems existing in the process of the development. Like that, the low level of urbanization and infrastructure construction lag. As a whole, at or above the provincial level of the higher road has become a network layout, and four municipalities within the highway transportation system is not perfect in southeast area of Gansu province.In the fourth chapter, the study analyzed the current resource conditions and the situation of industrial development, to explore how to better serve the regional economic space structure construction. In the form of industrial division of labor and cooperation, make full use of resource complementarity between Four cities and the relatively strong processing industry base of Tianshui as well as the relatively superior transportation conditions, and with the development of science and technology and human resources to support, will be the best route to build the regional linkage development mode.In the fifth chapter, the study on the basis of above analysis conclusion built regional economic development axis in Qingyang city, Pingliang city, Tianshui city, Cheng county and Wudu district for the node, located the development direction of the core city, put forward the development strategy and the suggestion to optimize the key axis and realize the docking with other regional economy, and finally to give the safeguard measures for promoting the development of regional economy of southeast area of Gansu province though the economic key axis.
