The further promoting of China’s urbanization strategy brought about the size of the area occupied by the continuous expansion of the city, and the suburban area of the city has also been involved in this social change directly, resulted the suburban landless peasants group. At present, more and more farmers living in suburban areas through land expropriation, dismissing the village, etc. to achieve the transition from peasant to the identity of the citizen. With the proposed construction of new urbanization strategy, China’s urbanization construction is in the beginning of a new era. A complete the process of urbanization not only includes rural to urban migration and the rapid expansion of urban space, but also should include social transformation and the role adaption of the new citizens. After experiencing the city life, what changes took place in their behavior patterns and the inner world? The empirical research found that in the beginning of living space shift, suburban peasants are faced with a weakened and differentiation transformation of family and geopolitical networks, thus resulting in the loss of sense of place. During this period, they are unable to comprehend the role of the citizen in line with society’s expectations of their role, so at this period, they are often unable to take the initiative to adapt to the role of citizen. But as the time of life in the city increased, suburban peasants’comprehension the role of the citizen will continue to change, so they will take the initiative to change their behavior so that they are more in line with the role of citizens. On social interaction, through reconstruct neighborhood relationships and establish career network, it gradually turns from homogeneity into heterogeneity. On terms of cultural customs, traditional rural customs are simplified in modern public space gradually.
