With the accelerate of the process of urbanization and industrialization in China, the construction industryobtained the fast and stable development and ushered in the golden age of development since the reform and opening up, especially in the 21 st century. China’sconstruction enterprises are facing fierce market competition and increasingly brutal ambient pressure and desperately needchange the existing mode of operation and the development of ideas as people continue to focus on the environment and the quality of development, coupled with the huge impact from foreign large construction enterprises to our country’s construction industry with China’s accession to WTO.Therefore, the study of transformation and upgrading has some practical significance.This paper bases on the theory of management science, economics, the enterprise strategy management theory, the theory of global value chain, core competitiveness and other related basis, takes 1st Development and Construction Co. Ltd.of BEIJING UNI-CONSTRUCTIONas the subjectof its research. Firstly, deeply analysisthe external environment of this company such as macroeconomic environment as well as the construction industry environment and the internal conditions such as the certificates resources of companytransformation and upgrading;then, summarized the existence opportunities and restrictive factors faced by the transformation and upgradingthrough internal and external environmental analysis; further,proposed the comprehensive reform of the ownership structure, change the business model and philosophy, expand the whole industry chain advantages, accelerate the processof standardization of information technology and other related implementation path combined with the ideology of transformation and upgrading and gave the appropriate safeguards measures and related recommendations; lastly, summarized the researchand look forward to the next stage of research.
