During the past two decades, the export of Chinese fish products has been increasing fast However, affected by various factors, the export fluctuates and its advantage in export competitiveness is not obvious. Besides, pursuance for short-time profit and group psychology of the export companies have resulted in lack of overall and timely strategic instructions in the export of fish products. The product structure and market composition need to be adjusted and optimized. Here in this paper it’ll emphasize on the analysis of current situation of Chinese fish products export. An analysis on total export fluctuation will be done, according to which the advice on how to promote stable export increase wholly wil be brought up. On that basis, further researches how to adopt suitable export strategies in particular markets by an export potential analysis on Chinese fish products export to some key markets, so as to value the export potential and to select export strategies.First, using detailed data of the export of Chinese fish products from 1992 to 2013, analyze its current situation systematically from the point of export scale and export structure.Then analyze the law of Chinese fish product export fluctuation and divide the 22 years into four stages. Via Constant Market Share model, discuss the main increasing motivations, their contributions to export increase and influences on stable export increase from the three dimensions of market demand, export structure and export competitiveness. As markets vary, conclusions of total export analysis need to be further discussed. It’ll choose some key markets of Chinese fish products export, structure a trade gravity model to analyze factors influencing trade flows, and figure out the export potential index.Last, basing on the results of overall analysis about total export and specific analysis about export to some key markets, put forward some advice to help relieve the fluctuation of export growth and strengthen the stable development of Chinese fish product export from the three dimensions of market demand, export structure and export competitiveness. Propose several suggestions for excavating export potential and make different export decisions for different markets from the points of influencing factors and current situations of fish products export in certain key markets.
