Study On The Way To Achieve Employment And The Employment Service Of Urban Floating Population Of Ethnic Minorities

This thesis mainly focuses on the study of the way to achieve employment and the employment service which have an influence on the employment quality of floating population of ethnic minorities who work in Guangzhou City. This thesis takes floating population of ethnic minorities who work in Yuexiu District, Liwan District and Haizhu District of Guangzhou City as the object of study, and it takes literature survey,investigation, comparative study and empirical study as research methods. The writer carried out the research based on a review of related literature. It took the writer almost half a year to finish the investigation since June, 2014. The writer carried out the investigation through questionnaire survey, individual interviews, field visits, meetings, telephone interviews,etc. Through the investigation, the writer got the latest and real data about migration motive,industry distribution, the way to achieve employment, current situation of receiving services and help, employment satisfaction, existent difficulties and needs of employment service,etc. Through analysis and comparison, the writer learned that the results of the survey are similar to the writer’s previous assumptions and forecasts and also the related research results of others and the official data, which proved that the data of the investigation had high reliability. The results of the survey shows a true reflection of the the actuality of employment of floating population of ethnic minorities who work in Guangzhou City. The results of the survey provides important basis for the study on “the way to achieve employment and employment service”. The writer summed up the following point of view based on the results of the survey : at present, floating population of ethnic minorities in Guangzhou City achieve employment mainly through the network of social-relations. The way to achieve employment being quite single, which causes the range of choice of occupation is limited. This also has an influence on the employment quality of them. To change all this situation, it requires the joint efforts of both sides. The workforce himself and the relevant government departments needs to make joint efforts, and the latter plays a leading role here. According to this, the writer put forward seven proposals on how to improve and optimize employment service :(1) Expand and enrich the content andconnotation of employment service from the theoretical level;(2) With the help of Offices on behalf of other cities which are stationed in Guangzhou City, and provide remote network employment service to floating population of ethnic minorities;(3) Provide floating population of ethnic minorities who work in Guangzhou City continuing education service,and take it seriously;(4) Vocational-Technical School select ethnic minorities students to take oriented training;(5) With the help of information platform, we can provide services which are more down-to-earth for floating population of ethnic minorities;(6) Strengthen publicity of the relevant employment service of Guangzhou City;(7) Establish supervisory authorities of employment service of floating population of ethnic minorities. In addition, the writer also shared the wonderful employment history of those successful men in all the interviewee.
