Urban rail transit project is characterized by its long construction cycle, mass investment volume and high complexity. It includes civil engineering and several equipment systems. Among these systems metro vehicle occupies the biggest proportion of the total equipment investment and also is the most important metro equipment. The metro vehicle compromises intricately by carbody, bogie, traction system, auxiliary system, control system, AC, door, PIS and so on, with interfaces between these sub systems. In addition the interfaces between vehicle and external equipment are also very complicated, such as Power Sourcing Equipment, Rail, Signal, Ground PIS, Wireless Communication. Therefore it’s very difficult to operate the management of vehicle project and meanwhile vehicle project is so important that its schedule will influence the entire metro project. The arrival mount and the quality of vehicles will directly affect the service quality of operation, and so is the key performance index and image project when very metro line starts to operate.The construction of metro vehicles involves the design department, sub-equipment, material supplier, factories, debug workshop and supervisor, and so on. Effective organization and scientific management of all relevant departments is the only method to effective management and control of the investment, schedule and quality of the vehicle project construction.According to the distinctiveness of Nanjing Airport vehicle project, and combined with the experience of finished Nanjing vehicle projects, this paper introduces the principle requirements of process control, states the control contents of owner departments, vehicle supplier and supervisor company, discusses how to control and adjust the schedule and meanwhile keep the engineering quality. Integrated the practical cases of the Airport Line, this paper proposes several experience of control management, and presents the special methods to keep up with the project plan.
