| Food security is always a matter of nation’s security, which includes the stability of the regime, the peace of the people China has been the representative of farming civilization. Northeast China is one of the three main grain-producing areas in China, which provides the highest grain food and the highest grain commodity rate to the country. It plays an important supporting role to protect the national food security. Cultivated land is the basis of grain production. The change of cultivated land resources has significance influence on the development of grain production. This paper takes cultivated land resources in Northeast China as the object of study, to carry out its impact on food production. The result has great significance for the protection of cultivated land resources and food security from this time forth. The paper use field investigation method, mathematical statistics and literature induction, the quantity and quality of cultivated land resources were analyzed. We arrive at the following reviews: 1. The cause for the increasing number of arable land is agricultural structure adjustment and land development. 2. The main reason for the reduction of cultivated land is ecological restoration and construction occupancy. As the amount of cultivated land decreased more than the cultivated land, the total amount of cultivated land in Northeast China’s overall is dwindling. The quality of cultivated land in Northeast China is not optimistic, but the decreasing quality of land has been reversed. In recent years, the quality of the soil fertility of the cultivated land presents a potential of restorative ascent. The paper systematically analyzes the cultivation area, yield, total output, planting structure of the grain crops in Northeast China. The results show that the sown area of grain crops and the total grain output of grain crops in Northeast China are fluctuating greatly. Its growth rate is significantly higher than the national average. The yield of grain crops in Northeast China is greatly improved, significantly higher than the national average. But as for grain crop yield, especially the stability of corn yield is poor, which means volatility is obvious. Wheat production status fell sharply, soybean production status tends to fall as well, while the rice production increased obviously, corn production status rise sharply. The paper discussed the driving force of cultivated land resources by principal component analysis. The result shows that social economic development and agricultural scientific and technological progress are the main factors to promote the change of arable land in Northeast China. The effects of the yield and the area on the total grain output were analyzed. Come to the conclusion, the improvement of grain output in Northeast mainly from the increase of yield per unit area. It indicates that the key to increase the grain yield in Northeast China is to improve the quality of cultivated land and to increase the yield of grain crops. |
