Research On The Relationship Of Urbanization And Construction Land Intensive Use Efficiency In China

Urbanization is the basic way to promote regional balanced development, it is the inevitable law of economic and social development. Since the reform and opening up, Chinese urbanization process has made great achievements. Data shows that in 1978 Chinese urbanization rate is 17.9% and in 2014 it increases to 54.8%. Urbanization is the process of the optimization of resources and elements in space, the most important is the efficient allocation and intensive use of land resources. Lacking of land is our greatest constraint in urbanization, China’s national conditions requires intensive development, efficient use of land, rationally determine the size of the city, improving the urban construction land use standards, and tap the potential of the stock land. How to improve the urban construction land intensive utilization efficiency, and ensure the development of urbanization and improve the scientific quality of urbanization is an important issue. Therefore, to carry out the study on construction land intensive use efficiency in the process of urbanization is of great significance.The study chose the prefecture-level cities in mainland China for the study area, built the indicator system for evaluation including the population, land, economic, social, ecological, and analyzed the urbanization development level of 288 prefecture-level cities; through data envelopment analysis, evaluated the cities’ construction land intensive utilization efficiency, then the cities eventually were divided into four types. In a typical study, choose 15 cities in coastal export-oriented, the resource-based and landscape tourism as a typical analysis. Analyse the urbanization level and the change of construction land use efficiency of each city during 2003-2012, calculating correlation of the two, and finding the law of urban development.The results show that: 1. The urbanization level of China increased year by year, and there is a big regional differences between different cities, urbanization level is affected by different factors.2.The urban construction land intensive utilization efficiency generally low, and presents the east is higher than west, the characteristics are higher than inland.3. Urbanization level Some cities is failed to achieve the coordinated development of intensive construction land use efficiency.4. Diffenrences between urbanization level and efficiency of intensive construction land use difference in different types of city is large. When the urbanization level coastal export-oriented city is higher, the urbanization level and efficiency of intensive construction land use correlation characteristic of the stronger. Mainland resources city land use intensive degree lead to efficiency drops, scenic tourist city intensive land use degree is growing rapidly but the efficiency is slow.
