On The Study Of Agri-tourism And Rural Tourism Development In Fengtai County

Taking agricultural tourism as the content, agri-tourism and rural tourism is actually agriculture bearing certain industrial functions and landscape characteristics. Agri-tourism and rural tourism is a new agricultural industrial form which integrates agricultural production, tourism, and recreational functions on the basis of agricultural production, landscape resource and civilization. The development of agri-tourism and rural tourism is advantageous to not only the readjustment of our agricultural industrial structure, but also the digestion of surplus rural labor force, the increase of added agricultural value and rural income, and the promotion of regional economic development. Therefore, encouraging the development of agri-tourism and rural tourism across the country is of great significance to the transformation of the growth pattern of agriculture and rural economy and also acts as a power driving the construction of new socialist countryside.Located in the midstream of Huaihe River, Fengtai County bears flat and broad terrain, moderate climate, abundant natural products and superior natural environment and locational factors, which endow the local agricultural production advantaged conditions. Consequently, this region has witnessed rapid agricultural development, abundant mineral and water resources, developed industry and solid economic foundation. All of these lay a firm foundation for the development of agri-tourism and rural tourism. In recent years, as the projects of constructing new socialist countryside have been implemented, agri-tourism and rural tourism has also embraced new development opportunities nationwide, along with the increasing market demands, the rapidly changing tourist sites and the new peaks of tourism income. It is under such background that the development of agri-tourism and rural tourism in Fengtai County has yielded rapid development and begun to take shape. As to the current development status, however, there are still certain questions that need our further research and reflection.On the basis of literature study and field investigation, this paper elaborates the existing conditions, industrial base and development patterns of agri-tourism and rural tourism in Fengtai County. Furthermore, SWOT is adopted to systematically summarize the advantages, disadvantages, opportunities and challenges of agri-tourism and rural tourism based on the current condition. It is believed that Fengtai County enjoys several advantageous conditions internally in the development of agri-tourism and rural tourism, such as favorable ecological environment, relatively centralized farmland resource, solid foundation of agricultural production, abundant tourism resource and superior investment environment. In addition, there are such disadvantages as weak foundation in tourism development, inadequate infrastructure construction and the lack of professional talents in agri-tourism. How to develop agri-tourism and rural tourism in Fengtai County when confronting with the opportunities brought by policies, market and transformation of rural development, and challenges brought by the fierce competition in agri-tourism and rural tourism market and great difficulties in regional environment governance becomes a focus of this paper. By referring to certain successful experience and measures in developing agri-tourism and rural tourism at home and abroad, this paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to promote the development of agri-tourism and rural tourism in Fengtai County. To be more specific, they can be summarized in four aspects. Firstly, utilize governmental guidance and scientific planning, and fully exert regional advantages; secondly, highlight characteristics, develop superior regional products and enrich cultural connotation; thirdly, emphasize marketing, build brand and expand regional influence; fourthly, reinforce exchange and cooperation between the government and enterprises, cultivate specialized talents and build agri-tourism industry through concerted efforts.
