Under the background of economic globalization, Chinese government pay more attention to small and medium-sized enterprises for it’s playing an important role in economic development. It is not only the main driving force to promote the growth of social wealth, but also an important source to create jobs. Since China as a member of WTO in 2001, more and more SMEs in Anhui Province go abroad, competing in the international market with enterprises from different countries. Due to the intensification of international competition, small scale, insufficient of funds and other inherent problems of SMEs, the SMEs in Anhui Province encountered many kinds of problems in their process of internationalization. Therefore, how to accelerate the process of the internationalization of SMEs and select proper international strategy in Anhui Province, in the context of economic globalization, is worthy of attention and research.This paper is based on the collected research data, emphatically describes the present situation of SMEs, present internationalization of SMEs, and problems in the process of internationalization and internationalization strategy can be taken for SMEs and so on. The first chapter briefly summarizes the research background, significance and train of thought. It also contains the definition of internationalization and the evolution of international theory, and then explain the method of the study thinking and writing process used in the paper. The second chapter mainly introduces the general situation of SMEs and its current situation of development of its internationalization in Anhui Province, with a descriptive statistical analysis based on the data form enterprises research. The third chapter is mainly about a case study, which is about a garment processing company in Anqing, Anhui Province. It introduces its successful experience in internationalization and the problems it came across in the process of internationalization. This chapter focuses on to summarize lessons in order to provide a reference for other SMEs. The fourth chapter on the basis of the former three chapters, elucidate which internationalization strategy can be used for SMEs in Anhui Province. Finally the author points out the deficiencies and several points should be improved.
