Study On The Effect Of Social Capital On The New Generation Of Migrant Workers’ Income

The total number of the new generation of migrant workers is about 100,000,000, accounting more than 60% for the total number of migrant workers. This is a special group of China’s current economic and social development process. This group has aroused widespread attention from all sectors of society. The new generation of migrant workers born after1980s. Because they go to city to work after graduating from school directly, they are strange in agricultural production and rural life. However, there is an obvious gap between the migrant workers" income and the urban workers" income. The number of literature and results of the study is expensive. But the further research of the new generation of migrant workers’income and influence factors is not much to see.Social capital as a link between person and person, has become another factor influencing the income of migrant workers, after the physical capital and human capital. This paper studies the new generation of migrant workers" income from the perspective of social capital. In the limited literature, we can analysis that:the results of theory analysis of the effect of social capital on migrant workers’income are consistent, and there is a certain effect; however, the conclusion is uneven in the scholars in the empirical analysis.The social capital is divided into primitive capital society and the new social capital. Put two levels of social capital into a framework using factor analysis methods. Measure the impact of all levels of social capital of the new generation of migrant workers on the overall social capital index. Analyze the social capital structure, namely the primitive social capital and the new social capital, to find the investigation of their effect on the new generation of migrant workers income respectively, with the method of stepwise regression. We find that the influence weight of the new social capital to social capital index is greater than the primitive social capital finally. And the new social capital has a significant positive effect on the new generation of migrant workers" income.This paper is divided into five parts, the structure is as follows:the first part is the introduction part, mainly discusses the background and significance of topics, research ideas and methods; the second part has combed the literature reviews of the new generation of migrant workers, social capital and impact of social capital on the income of migrant workers: the third part is the theoretical analysis, introduces the theoretical basis of the thesis, analysis of the mechanism of social capital on the income effect, study on social capital of new generation migrant workers; the fourth part; the fourth part is the analysis of the present situation, analyzes the characteristics of the new generation of migrant workers, the current income situation and social capital,based on data processing of the questionnaire; the fifth part is the empirical analysis of the effect of social capital on the income of the new generation of migrant workers; the sixth part is the conclusions and suggestions.
